“Fore the House” Golf Outing

Golf Outing benefits Iowa City Ronald McDonald House

The 7th Annual "Fore the House" Golf Outing, co-sponsored by the Iowa City Thursday Noon Rotary Club, raised money and support of the Ronald McDonald House in Iowa City.

On Monday, June 9, community members showed their support for the Ronald McDonald House at the 7th Annual "Fore the House" Golf Outing. Held at Finkbine Golf Course, golfers enjoyed a round of rain-free golf, wonderful prizes, and a steak dinner to conclude play. Co-sponsored by the Iowa City Thursday Noon Rotary Club, all proceeds benefit families served at the Iowa City Ronald McDonald House.

The Ronald McDonald House provides a "home away from home" for up to 31 different families each and every night. Any family with a child 18 years or younger traveling to Iowa City to seek medical treatment for a child is eligible to stay at the Ronald McDonald House. Families are asked to pay $15/night for a room. However, almost 40% of families stay at little to no cost thanks to the "Share-A-Night" program offered by the House. The Ronald McDonald House is not owned or operated by the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics or McDonald's Restaurants. The House also received no federal or state tax dollars to fund its programs.
