The Ronald McDonald House is here when you need a place to stay while your child receives critical medical care at the hospitals and clinics in Iowa City.
The Ronald McDonald House serves families traveling to Iowa City from a distance of at least 20 miles away. Please keep this in mind when making a request for stay.
Consider us your "home away from home".
Staying at the House
How do you stay at the Ronald McDonald House? It’s easy! Follow these steps.
1. Call the registration desk at 319-356-3939 to place your name on the Request for Stay list. We will call you back on the morning of the date that you request if a room is available.
2. OR, complete our online registration form. We will call you once a room becomes available for you and your familly on the date of your request.
3. When you arrive in Iowa City, find us located here, about 3 blocks west of the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics on Hawkins Dr.
4. Our room rates are $15/night for a standard room, $20/night for a suite. We do not turn anyone away due to the inability to pay the nominal rate.
5. We’ll take care of the rest – sleep easy knowing that you’re in a safe, comfortable “home away from home” in Iowa City.
